Took Kyo to the vet today for his sjots. He has a congenital heart murmur. It's so big I could feel it through his chest once I was told what to look for. They want to do an EKG and chest x-rays on him to find out exactly how bad it is so they can find the best medicine to get him on. Unfortunately, that's going to cost roughly $250 plus however much the medicine costs. As much as I hate to say it, I simply cannot afford that right now with the move coming up in a month and a half.
I always said I wouldn't spend tons of money on a pet because it was an animal, but its tearing me apart that I can't afford to get the EKG and x-rays done. I'm waiting for the vet to call me back right now to find out if it's possible to get him started on some kind of medication until I can afford an EKG (once in Denver and working).
This just isn't fair and there's nothing I can do about it.
EDIT(1:12am) - Russell is a wonderful, wonderful man. I'll be able to getthe EKG and x-rays done come the beginning of October. I just need to see about medication until then. Sadly, the vet didn't call me back, but I guess with the closing of the office and all it might have slipped his mind. I'll talk to him tomorrow before work.
