Boston Market

Well, I just got off the phone with the general manager of the Littleton Boston Market. She was a very animated woman that was indeed interested in me for a management job, as she really needs a manager at her Littleton store, but unfortunately Littleton is about a 35-45 minute commute from Broomfield. I'm willing to make such a commute if I'm getting paid enough to compensate for the gas expenditure and, in theory, if I get over my stupid little fear of riding buses in big cities, I could possibly commute that way. I expressed my willingness to commute, but Wendy once worked in Broomfield for a year and knows the commute well. She really doesn't want to put anyone through that, so she's going to pass my info on to her boss and wants me to give her cellphone a call when I'm moved in. She's pretty confidant they can find me a management position within Boston Market.
Now, Boston Market isn't the greatest of restaurants (I've been to one once in Pittsburgh), but they are a step above fast food. And it really does feel nice to have finally gotten someone interested in hiring me after all those resumes I sent to
katsudon for mass distribution. Rich and I are going to go to the Denver Post job faire On the 25th at Invesco. There be a mighty fuckload of companies looking to hire, so hopefully we both can get some bites that way. There are even a couple mining companies going to be there, so maybe I can try and stick my foot in the door there with an entry level geology position that doesn't require a degree. It is a possibility. Also, one of the various Sysco companies will be there and that's a possibility as if I'm going to work in the food industry, I'd rather work something closer to catering than dealing with food for the general masses. Catering is just more fun, more relaxing and you can actually be creative without possibly upsetting your bosses.
I'm feeling much happier and a little less stressed about my move in a week. Now I just need to find a way to afford both the gas to Denver and pay my rent for October before I move out of my current place. I'd rather not have to ask Dad for money, though since Mom's contributed roughly $380 toward my move, a part of me feels like Dad kind of owes it despite Mom having volunteered the money. It's all fuckered up in my head and this is why I tend to just ignore the issues with my father. Less of a headache then. *grumbles*
